Biography
Jessica L. Francis joined Wagner Law Group in the Spring of 2024 in an Of Counsel position. Her practice focuses on insurance defense litigation, commercial litigation, and debt collection, with particular skill in motion practice and investigation.
Prior to her legal career, Jessica spent five years at Halliburton in the Permian Basin working in cementing, completion tools, and hydraulic fracturing. She completed her MBA while employed full-time before attending law school — bringing a working-knowledge of industrial operations to the firm’s defense work for energy and transportation clients.

- Rescued a client’s personal injury settlement by disproving a false claim of client negligence and uncovering evidence of the plaintiff’s continuous wheelchair use for a decade prior.
- Composed multiple motions for sanctions during a multi-million-dollar lawsuit; persuaded the judge to appoint an auditor and examine the defendant’s accounts receivable, resulting in issuance of a check to the client for $8M in money owed.
- Prepared and successfully argued motion for summary judgment concerning general contractors’ refusal to defend and indemnify the client, a property owner.
- Prepared motion for summary judgment resulting in agreement to settle in a lawsuit involving an injured champion horse.
- Attained satisfactory outcomes for clients by creating demand letters and delivering pre-litigation resolutions for debt collection.
